my friend bought an S&W model 29 today with the 8-and-whatever-inch barrel, and the rubber hogue-style grips. we then took it prompty to the range with some .44 magnum Gold Dots. i fired 6 rounds from the bench. 4 of the 6 hit a 10" gong at 100 yds. it was fun. it had a GREAT trigger on it, and the rubber grip was much better than wood grips for shooting. this particular pistol is great for shooting, but maybe not for collector's value, because of the rubber grips, and because the chambers aren't recessed, which makes the casings fit more flush with the frame. it was much good.
