Ok, here is the situation.. one of our applications has an ftp client front end for managing videos. The issue is that during large uploads, the server ftp timesout and disconnects the client at the end of the upload before the client can auto config some files on the server. The workaround for this is to eliminate ftp timers on the servers. Not a big deal for internal servers since we manage those, but, turns out its a big deal when we are using our internet server for demos since its on a shared host and ftp timers are global. The solution is a VPS account, but I have no clue how to set one up or manage domains/ftp on them. If anyone can give me a hand on aim or whatever I would appreciate it.
