Give me some sites to study!
http://tinyurl.com/dg4dca and http://tinyurl.com/dglo2o should help.
thanks, that wasn't the first thing i tried. Surely I wasn't coming here to get the definitive guide to this shit rather than some random/guide tutorial.
I just read the postgres intro tutorial. Where can i learn more about database design?
What exactly do you want to know about database design?
Designing for Performance?
Dealing with 250m+ records?
There are many different thought processes depending on what you are doing with the database and the structure. IE: Website framework database VS large scale data warehouse. Both use different architectures, layouts and theories. One may be normalized Boyce-Codd Normal Form (BCNF) 3NF, 4NF where Data warehouses may not normalize anything and have HUGE single records.

you're the one saying you need to learn everything there is tomorrow and you're giving him shit for pointing you to what you should have already done?
You can't do it in a day, but have at.
Job interview. I basically just need the basics that an interview might involve.
Pointing me in a rude way. You really think I've never heard of google and that wasnt' the first thing I checked out? I came here incase there is something like a Silberschatz for databases that I HAVE to read because it WILL be in an interview.
if you're being interviewed by HR you've got a chance to snow them
if you're being interviewed by the hiring manager you just shoudln't go
it's a pretest. The job has TERRIBLE pay for the field so I'm sure they intend to train someone up, but I still need to get through the pre test.
You have zero experience, so expect to to get paid accordingly.
If the job has an hourly rate, how many people with experience would you expect? I expect to be paid the shitty posted rate.
And thanks for the links. They are really informative!!
With the current US economy situation.... lots. Gotta survive some how!
