Performance enhancing drugs should be legal in Pro MMA and illegal in Am.
Maybe then I could gain weight.
Yeah good idea. Because people should be punished for not taking steroids, and encouraged to take steroids. Who cares about the health risks?
Its not about the health of the fighter really... if it were then they would punish fighters for drinking and smoking.
The UFC doesn't really care anyway, they've only tested once in states that didnt require testing.
Steroids, when taken in moderation are no worse than drinking.
And considering most of them help heal your joints and old injuries are pretty good for you.
And tell Suboptimal to not post in my threads. I can't see them anyway.
What Optamix says is true, if you don't over over exceed the usage of steroids, then it should not have any real permanent health damage.
The Fitness Forum here has more knowledge on this stuff.
I've actually been doing a lot of research on it.
Optamix. An amateur fighter and e-doctor. What a guy.
making an illegal drug legal to take would help MMA gain mainstream support and more creditability (or however you spell it), why not just add story lines and let vince mcmahon run the thing
Well going beyond what I just said I believe that they should be legal. How anyone can rationalize having alcohol being legal but not steroids...it just boggles my mind.
Steroids should be regulated and allowed, check out the forums at mind and muscle dot net if you want your research to yield the best results.
i didn't say they shouldn't be illegal in society but they are, so if MMA allowed them it would make them look like a joke. I personally think most drugs should be legal but that's not the point lol
yeah cause they haven't gotten any negative attention for that the last few years have they,,,,uh,,,congressional hearings, best seller books etc etc. do you seriously think a sport trying to gain legitamacy should make the move to allowing steroids lmao, wow
SubOptimal. A blackbelt airchair warrior and an internet troll. What a guy.
Taken correctly, steroids can benefit a person, their sports performance and overall health. Can the same be said for alcohol and cigarettes, which are legal? NO.
Exactly. Like many other illegal substances, many of the negative consequences are due to misuse, which is rampant when these substances are outlawed. Legalize, regulate, and let people make educated decisions for themselves.
If a professional athlete requires steroids, for whatever medical reason; asthma/reparing joins/muscles, and a doctor prescribes them and informs the correct authrorities, what is the issue?
The only other purpuse for steroids would be to gain a competitive advantage.
Besides, could anything be worse for MMA's reputation than being a "roid sport", which it has already been accused of being.
Oh I love him.
I don't think cigarettes are beneficial in any quantity.
MMA has been fighting for a good image for a while. Steroids would not help one bit.
