Because they don't offer a fucking manual on most (or any) of their cars
MB > You
my step-mom's SL500 is 5spd auto
Because most of the people who buy a Mercedes cant drive stick
People who buy MBs don't want manual.
I thought all AMGs were automatic too. It's their official policy.
i would drive an auto amg anydays.. its fast enough as is..
The only MB's i'd own would be AMG's. (more specifically SL55/E55)
Mercedes has m/t for the C Class, and the SLK. No demand for a manual.
If people who drive luxury cars don't want manual, then why can I get every Bimmer in a manual except the 7 series?
AMG cars = snooze
I'd take an AMG -65 of any type just because they're ridiculously fast, but the other ones are not interesting to me.
They offer them on all the SLKs, and all of the C-Classes (except the AMG models).
Not that it matters anyway, the MB manuals realllllllllly suck. The automatics on the other hand, are some of the best in the biz.
I'd take a Bimmer over the equivalent MB any day for the simple fact I can get it in a manual. And if BMW doesn't offer a comparable vehicle, I'm sure I could find something
um, my asshole...are you talking about a C32? They run mid-high 13's chico
shaddap, most of their slush boxes can outperform some "manuals" and "manumatics"
Don't forget that thier C-class cars comes with no CD player whatsoever as standard equipment. $25k+ and only a cassette player standard = .
Driver's car v non-driver's car. They both have luxurious amenities, but MB is 'classic' luxury and BMW is sporty luxury.
Mercedes puts down nice numbers sometimes, but lack of manual just fucking kills it for me. Audi offers a manual in most of their cars, BMW offers it in theirs...don't know about Infiniti or Lexus, but I know you can at least get manual in a few of their models (G35 and IS300). Acura doesn't offer manual in a lot, and I wouldn't buy one of their cars for the same reason.
A car can be fast and auto...but people like me enjoy shifting...whether it is a truck, or car, or econo-box...I love stick shift.
manual trans is a preference, not an indication of speed (unless you have a slow car to begin with)
Don't like manumatics either.
Whether or not it outperforms a manual is something I'd have to see tests for to believe.
well damn, i've never seen one run anything under a 13.30...
I like having that extra level of control over the car.
no offense...but that really doesn't prove anything. If you car ran 12.9 thats fine...i just have never personally witnessed one running better than a 13.30.
Anyone can post pics of timeslips...Like i said, i'm not asking you to prove it, since i really don't care...just pointing it out.
It doesn't matter if they're fast with an auto - I like driving a stick, thus MB sucks because they don't offer a stick.
Hell, even their flagship exotic isn't going to have a manual when it hits the pavement.
