Blue Bell is good if you want to pig out and eat a whole pint like mint chocolate chip but if you get a pint of a real premium brand most people can only eat a few spoonfuls because it's so rich.

fun fact- when i was a grocery mgr, our VALUE PRICED ice cream in the gallon bucket which was the cheapest thing we sold was CREAM first ingredient, i made soooo many customers switch to it

theres like 4' of actual ice cream, rest is frozen dairy dessert

if the first ingredient isnt CREAM, dont fucking purchase it

If Hagen Das and B&J are 12% and Blue Bell is 10%, I'm not sure the 2% difference is enough for me to really notice, or pay the difference. A Hagen Das pint is the same price as a Blue Bell gallon. If I want special ice cream I can always go down to our local place instead of buying from corporate places like Ben and Jerry's.

cream and skim milk like b+js is > 10% butterfat

garbage 'ice cream' like bluebell which is milk first is only 10% butterfat

the shit thats labelled frozen dairy dessert in the store is <10% butterfat

legally the govt allows 10% to be called ice cream, but no sane person considers it to be.

Except for their vanilla, Blue Bell is mediocre. As a Texan, Blue Bell might be our most overrated brand and Texans love overrating the shit out of mediocre Texas-based products and chains.
