california disappoints me sooooo much
Why? This wasn't the will of the people, it was a decision by seven people in robes. If Prop 8 was on the ballot in Iowa it would most likely win by a larger margin than in California. This is not the end of the story, I'm sure there will be a concerted effort to amend the Iowa state constitution just like they did in California. It does seem that the Iowa state constitution is harder to amend than the California one however.
Fucking Iowa, what is next, Idaho?
it ain't over till the fat woman from Iowa sings. And I don't mean Roseanne she isn't in Ottumwa anymore!
Apparently they had something to do with inter-racial marriages as well
iowa ftw.. i did not see that coming though...
Idk maybe some what off topic but is having someone come over on a visa to get married and they have a time limit to get papers still in effect or those laws change if not does same sex marriages allow that too?
No, immigration and naturalization are strictly federal duties and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) specifically says that the federal government does not recognize same-sex marriages even if they are by a state government. So unless that law is overturned or repealed, there's no way some alien is going to get the right to live and work in the U.S. through gay marriage.
