Is it possible to make a direct connection to my ISP through FireWire? I've heard of IP over FireWire for connecting two computers but can it be done for connecting to the internet? Are there devices that would somehow go like this:

Cable Modem --(FireWire)--> PC
or
Cable Modem --(Ethernet)--> Device --(FireWire)--> PC?

Odd question, I know. :big grin: I'm dual booting Windows XP/Mac OS X on my PC but OS X doesn't recognize my ethernet or wifi.:wtc: The only network card it does see is 'Built-In FireWire'. It's kind of a last ditch effort for web surfing ability.

maybe this, if a pc even has the ability to do internet connection sharing over firewire. the pc would be the "device"

however, i have seen cable modems that are usb

are you sure you can't try another ethernet card?
