Looks like I am going to do a small competition at the beginning of Febuary sanctioned by the ipf. I have been on the website for the local competition and there is not many details as to what I will need other than a membership to the federation and competition dues. As far as equipment, I don't have any wraps, special shirts or suits etc... is it frowned upon if I show up with my normal shorts, t-shirt and nike shoes? I notice the pictures on the site show most lifters in power lifting equipment and either special shoes or chucks. A friend of mine at the gym just starting competing as a junior and mentioned I should come out to support the local lifters - he doesn't know much about the requirements as he is supplied all the equipment by his father. I am going to buy a belt this weekend as I figure its probably going to help me with my squat and my deadlift. I will keep browsing the actual website for info, but I appreciate any info from anyone here who has competed! Also, apparantly there are urine tests, and recently I have taken a caffeine pill and ephedrine before my cardio sessions - is this going to be a problem?
