Finally picked up an 8gig iphone and loving it so far
Wait until you start dropping every other call, you find stuck pixels, you notice dust under the screen, you see hairline cracks in the case, you have to reset the phone to get email to sync, your applications quit randomly, applications uninstall themselfs......
Welcome to iPhone 3G Twice The Speed(sometimes), Half The Price.
Here is a hint to get $30 refunded on your first bill. Call At&T and tell them you refuse to pay for 3G since Apple recommends disabling it to help with the dropped call issue.
I have no such problems but I'm in for the $30 refund
complete bullshit lol
threadstarter, enjoy your phone. i love mine.
Find friend with original iPhone. Activate it with you're phone number. Switch plan to the Unlimited+200 for 20.00 a month. Stop complaining about the 3G speeds cause you are paying EDGE but now getting 3G.
More than half of the 35,000 iPhone threads on the APPLE FORUMS seem to disagree with you:
Here is a thread with over 2,500 replies about the dropped call problem:
There is no way anyone can say the the iPhone is the perfect phone like Apple wants everyone to believe. I tried to defend my purchase choice at first, but it's impossible now. Apple even admits it by releasing two firmware updates during the first five weeks of the phones life.
No problems with mine, it's a pleasure to use.
hey... how much are SMSs? lollers.
Don't forget the laggy keyboard issues.
I have an iPhone and I leghump Apple but if you think the iPhone doesn't have issues you are on a whole new level of denial I have never even heard of.
The iPhone is wayyyyy more stable than the crappy ass Nokia E92 that I had before, and every other Windows Mobile phone that I've had (including Blackjack II).
I haven't dropped a call, I get laggy every so often, and app crashes are very rare. That is much better than the experience I've had with any other Smartphone that I've had.
Ohh wow so you are the only person on AT&T's network that has not had a dropped call with your iPhone. Your phone must have been built with a different chip than the other 11ty phones......
i've been on the fence for a bit for the 3G. the random bugginess is keeping me at bay for now. i'm not in contract right now so i can switch whenever.
yeah, people like to dramatize shit and complain
I've never dropped a call either.
Obviously there's some issues with stability and keyboard lag, but as a phone it's been great for me.
iPhone 3G> iPhone > BB Bold > Shit On A Stick > Open Moko
Yeah, it has it's flaws, but I'm really happy with mine. 2.0.1 fixed the keyboard lag I have. Safari seems to shit the bed occasionally but that is because of the sites I view. No dropped calls so far (4h talk time), 3G works well in Vancouver. I've streamed Last.fm on the train w/o any issues.
lots of sand in vaginas up in hurrr!!! loving mine so far.
i think it also depends on what devices and networks people came from. one friend of mine was a T-Mobile customer. when he got his iPhone he was blown away by how great the service was, how few dropped calls he got and everything. my other friend switched from Verizon and he's disappointed in his coverage now. in this area, Verizon's coverage is so much better than T-Mobile and AT&T. so, friend #1 has 0 complaints while friend #2 sees problems with dropped calls... and they live very close to each other. so, they get the same service now, but have different expectations.
what 3g speeds are you guys getting? with 4 bars i got 391.1kb/s
524 on 3G, and 256 on Edge.
Your Computer Speed : 322.3 kbps
Your iPhone Speed : 391.1 kbps ... WIFI
Your iPhone Speed : 457.7 kbps ... 3G
Your iPhone Speed : 104.4 kbps ... EDGE
460.1 on 3g
2068 on my computer
mine only seems to be laggy after jailbreak. i went back to non jailbroken and its plenty fast now.
