is there any way to make sub albums? if not it sucks hardcore
no to subalbums unfortunately
Finder > Pictures > iPhoto Library > Albums > Then click the drop down cogwheel at the top of Finder: NEW FOLDER
whats iPhoto do?
right now, it's the equivalent of a shoebox for my digital photos. if i'd ever bother to put keywords with my photos, it'd really be handy.
you can also make slideshows, crop and e-mail a bunch of photos automagically and some other cool stuff.
when you plug in a digital camera, it fires up the program and asks if you want to import the photos.
it doesn't show up in iphoto as a subalbum
um, go figure, iPhoto won't recognize that...
iphoto could be so awesome if it allowed subalbums
that's what feature requests are for.
though it might not work as well with apple, there are several apps that i use or have used in the past that i submitted feature requests for things like this and the vast majority of them were added to the apps in as little as one day to as much as four months (bigger company, fewer updates).
Oh snap. I guess not. I never keep photos in iPhoto folders, so I guess I never needed a subfolder. That's stupid that iPhoto won't recognize folders created in finder.
Man this is kinda frustrating... how do I request a feature?
so you've made an album you want a sub folder within the album or do you just wnat more albums.
Albums are sub folders of the library images.
looks you aren't the first person to wonder why they don't allow for this yet...
I want to have all my stuff organized into like types then into more details. I have a ton of pictures
sounds like a perfect use for keywords
Nope, no subfolders. I can see a use of why other people might want them- but as for me; I don't really need them at all.
ask and it shall be given...
so are hierarchial folders available now? I cant do it and i'm using iPhoto 5.0.3 which is the newest version
Got it. Create a new folder then just drag folders from the source list and it will make it a subfolder
not sure. have to play around with it later. i have 5 on my work powerbook, but no photos in it yet.
