ipod...new version or old?

computerdeals

is the new ipod really that much better than the older one? besides the whole moving parts deal...what are some reasons to pay so much more for a new one? Is the sound quality any better?

The old iPods have a firmware upgrade to use AAC just like the new ones. So the sound quality is the same. The only reason to buy a new one is if you want

1.) larger size (15 or 30 GB)
2.) smaller form factor
3.) Inline remote (first gen iPods didn't have this)
4.) Non-moving wheel

I have a first-gen iPod and it still works great.

If I had the money I would get a new one, just since they're cooler, but I would gladly take either if offered one for free, or at a super-low price, or to trade for my discman :)
