Is this stuff okay to shoot in my new Ruger 10/22?
yeah, but you can get 50 rounds of federal at walmart for a buck.. which is about .02 cents a round, and that stuff there is .028 cents a round.. plus shipping.
but to answer your question, yes, its fine, its non-corrosive
All the walmarts down here lost their licenses to sell guns, so as a result they don't sell ammo, accessories, etc. anymore .
Just ordered 1,000 rounds for my new 10/22
holy shit, you paid too much
and didn't the place you bought the .22 at sell ammo?
You can get Federal 550rd bricks of .22LR around here for like 8 bucks, no way I would order surplus ammo for a damn .22 and pay a lot more for it than I can get it locally plus shipping.
my custom 10/22 shoots best with Federal Champions, which are 98 cents a box here. for the bulk ammo, that's the best thing it will shoot. the Federal 550 round value packs are junk though.
They wouldn't let me buy ammo, said I had to be 21 and i'm only 20.
K mart at 595 and university sells ammo.
Last time i was at walmart by sawgrass mills they still sold guns and ammo.
what part of florida are you in. all the ones in north florida still sell ammo. i got 550 rounds for $8
The best results with my 18.5" 10/22 have been with the Wolf match ammo, CCI Minimags, and Win Dynapoint bulk. I believe they are phasing out the Dynapoints though and replacing with Win Xpert HV. Which also works okay. Mine in general likes 40gr ammo, but stay away from the Remington and Federal bulk ammo.
They'll sell you a gun but no ammo?
I'd move, immediately.
in fl its 21 for a handgun and ammo. and 18 for a rifle and rifle ammo i believe.
they wouldn't sell you .22lr ammo? whenever i buy some, they ask if it's for a rifle or pistol, and if i say rifle, i can buy it.
The ATF has a rule though that they can sell you .22lr if it is for a rifle. I think them selling you a 10/22 and then you wanting to buy a gun right away is a good sign it's for use in a rifle...
I hate gun employees at places that try to act like they know the law like the guy giving me the speach about buying handgun ammo for people under the age of 21 because he has never seen someone "as young as I am with this many different caliber guns"
And I went to Collector firearms here in Houston the other day and had the guy show me a Shotgun, an M1A SOCOM, and then I asked to see a AR-15 and he's like, "Can I see your ID?" and I showed him and he's like, "Yep, you can buy longguns" and gave me the AR and I made the comment, "Could also get a handgun too" and he's like, "Well, you need to be 21 to buy one" and I was like, "I am 21"
.22lr is rifle ammo go back and talk to the manager/owner or find somewhere that knows what they're doing
It dosent matte. if they ask just say its for a riffle. or wait until you are 21.
My answer to that question:
LOL I did that at kmart once I guess when they ring up ammo they have to check either pistol or rifle on the register, so I said machine gun. she gave me a look
Thanks i'll check those out sometime this week. All the ones up in palm beach county don't have anything.
that is so true. Before he handed me the 10/22 just to look at it, I had to show him my ID.
north florida isn't "real florida", it's just an extension of alabama/georgia .
and that would make it part of the real south and not the fake south florida.
South Florida is just an extension of Cuba
No, it's all that's left of the real Florida. The blue-hairs and other snowbirds are filling my home state from the bottom up
Federal 550 round packs are better than THUNDERBOLT! ammo. Jesus christ that stuff sucks big flappy donkey dick. I was shooting some out of my .22 revolver, and half the bullets you could see come out of the end of the barrel, and I threw the rest away after one of them fired like a fucking revolutionary war round. I pulled the trigger, the hammer dropped, and all i could hear was ssssssssssssssssssssssssssPOP! Into the trash the rest of it went.
