Im doing like 30-45mins of HIIT a day. Is this a bad thing to do ?
um.. you probably arent going intense enough if you CAN do 45 mins of it...
either that or you weigh 100 lbs... i sure as fuck know i couldnt sprint balls to the wall off and on for 45 mins...
could be wrong though but i've always heard that HIIT is generally done in pretty short segments...
I do it for 3mins on high intensity and than take a 1min slow down and than just keep repeating tell my legs are jello I do it on the elliptical trainer, and bike for HIIT.
And when I do it on High Intesity my HR gets up to around 160-175. And when I slow down it goes back down to around 120-130
i don't mean to be an ass but trust me, you can't do 30-45 minutes of hiit straight.
where in texas are you? i'll come through and show you what 10 minutes feels like.
I live in Dallas, although Im trying to get unfat atm But I use to push carts for Wal-Mart, and that was pretty much running for 8hrs straight with 200lbs of Carts attached by a rope
Like on the eliptical I will do a restiance of 10, and a crossramp of 10, and get my striders per a min up to 200-220 for 3mins, and than back resistance down to 0 and strides down to 80-100. Than I just keep repeating

Than what should I do ? Is 220 strides per a min not enough ?
Hmm just read 90-95% of maxxiumm HR, Im only doing about 80%
Start by getting off the fucking eliptical. The only piece of cardio equip that can be used for hiit and that is available in most gyms is the recumbant bike. Others include the vertical climer and a decent rower.
For the mnost part I would advise you get out and sprint to do real hiit. If you just want to lose some fat then eca+long duration low intensity good old meat and potatos cardio.
What is ECA
Do HIIT on the track or trail and it will kick your ass.
I like the elliptical for long duration cardio but thats about it.

No track or trials around here And I use to run/sprint in Highschool maybe thats why it doesnt bother me as much. Like I can do the elliptical for like 1hr before I even get tired And my resting HR is around 50 and my blood pressure is like 100-90/60-50
personally, i never exceeded 15 minutes of true hiit
when i was doing cardio and in a little better shape, i would go to the high school track. I started on the away side, did a 40 yd sprint, slowed to a jog, another 40 yd sprint, jog or walk around the curve to the home side, sprint to the top of the bleachers, jog down, back to the top, jog down, back to the top, jog to the track, jog/walk around the curve, 40 yd sprint/40 yd sprint
repeat for 15 minutes
I do 20 min, on a tread mill x3 a week. Man it kicks my ass

How do people run a treadmill, it just feels really awkard to me
I just listen to techno and do it. Deadlifts feel awkard to me too but I do them anyway.
I just think its the fact that Im running off my ass but looks like Im just sitting there
As a warm up to lifting I used to:
Min 1-2, 6.0
Min 2-4, 7.0
Min 4-6, 8.0
Min 6-8, 9.0
Min 8-10, 10.0
The last 2 minutes always got to me.
I would fall off the treadmill LOL. I getting faster and faster ever week. I will be at 10mph on min 19 in about 3-4 weeks.
Shit son, you do 3 straight minutes of HIIT and you don't even go above 175? You're doing HIT without the Intensity.
ya I'm in the 175 rang when doing HIIT.
