Is Costco worth it if you don't have kids?

Yeah. Buy a nice expensive piece of meat. Freeze it. Why?
I dont do that with like steaks and all but I will stock up on shitty stuff like ground beef. since it's just the wife and I, we'll buy their giant pack, portion it into 2 lb bags and freeze them.

Chuck for stews, Italian sausage, etc dont really get ruined by freezing.

if you're trying to save money, you probably won't actually save anything. prices on things like paper products and trash bags and such aren't cheaper than places like walmart or aldi. for produce, it's not like a normal grocery store where there's a bunch of variety. you can get things you need, but you'll probably have to stop at a normal grocery store to get everything.

good luck getting out of there for less than $300 :mamoru:

That's why I never went to Sam's Club. Went when I got the membership bc I had $20 off or something then never went back, got gas twice and that was it for the year. Bought dishwasher pods when there that was it

Savings on gas pays for the membership fee alone.

But fuck going there on the weekend, it’s like a family outting for some people, and fuck trying to push through Joseph Smith and his 3 wives and 15 children.

Maybe if you have a big SUV or something? My car is like 12 gallons so to save 30c a gallon = $3.60 to fill up?

If you're already there sure but to go out of my way to get gas there + maybe wait in line.

Ain't nobody got time for that to save $3-$4 a week.

I love Costco.

If you've got a smoker they are probably the best place to buy a brisket. I don't usually get their pork butts since they are boneless, though. They never turn out as nice as bone in imo.

Always stock up on protein powder, bars, egg whites, and chicken.

I don't get gas there very often since it's not really close, but it is .30c cheaper per gallon than the gas stations close to my house.

We will not be renewing our membership in a few months when it comes due.

Lines have got longer, products have become poorer quality and the clientele is seemingly trashier every visit.

I've been a member for so long I don't remember but the biggest deterent of me actually going to Costco is not the membership fee, it's the crowds.

Possibly true, but I do not know your local prices. Around here Costco is about .14 per gallon cheaper than anywhere else on average. I also drive a 4 banger tacoma and the wife drives a 4 banger camry. Plus our closest Costco is on the way to work for me and 5 mins from the house for the wife. If I am buying gas anyway might as well make it count towards paying for the membership imo.

We have the exec card and the credit card. We only get gas from Costco, with the "light purchasing" we do there every year we get about $200 back each year.
Somebody on here once said the gas purchases don't go towards your exec membership. I don't live near the fuel stations anymore so that doesn't really matter to me.

I hate that place. I got my annual Costco Visa card reward certificate, and decided to buy a new kitchen sink with it. Couldn't buy it online, so I had to go to the store and have it swapped out for a gift card to order online. Literally went there for no other reason and wound up spending $70 on a few miscellaneous groceries.
