I got a few friends that joined the army recently and both of them are fucking posting on facebook about the shit their doing while in bootcamp.

It was a little over a year since I've been to coast guard boot camp and if we even mentioned anything about a cellphone we'd get fucked up... if not bumped back a week or two. These fuckers are posting pics of themselves wearing bdu's leaning up against their racks (which look like shit).

I doubt the marines are texting on a nightly basis, but how are the navy and air force doing?

    Take this for example:

What is this shit laying on top of their locker, I see loose gear on his fucking rack.

I'd be in a world of hurt if that happened to us.

Based on them wearing their Bs it looks like they are at the end of basic. Lots of stupid privates go out on family day and spend all the money they saved on computers and everything else you could imagine. Then spend all night on them when they are supposed to be cleaning.

Not sure then. Maybe they had stuff they weren't supposed to. I went through in 08 and we got our phones every other week or so for about 10 minutes, but nothing like computers, internet access, or sun glasses.

I went to AF basic in 99, we were not allowed much. We had a boom box they let us use on sunday when we had GI parties.

We got like 3 patio breaks the whole time I was there and they read all of our letters home if we were caught writing after lights out.

we got phones every sunday for an hour unless we fucked up that week. So if someone has a blackberry or something they could easily browse facebook and the rest of the internets.

We boxed all our civilian clothes and shit up and sent it home on the first day, cell phones included. The only thing we kept were our wallets and ID cards, otherwise we only had what we were issued.

Twice we used payphones to make phone calls.

This is navy, I left there in november.

Shit I feel old, when I went in most didnt have cell phones so it wasnt a big deal lol

we left our clothes in bags and were in a locked closet, I remember once we broke into it and everyone wore regular clothes for about 20 mins then we all freaked out and put all our shit back away.

Didn't have shit in Army basic in 04. Best I did was watch about 90 seconds of an NFL game while cleaning a Drill SGT's office.

AF BMT in '94 - We didn't have dammit.
No one owned a cell phone - some guys had pagers.

I have no idea what recruits are allowed nowadays but I'm sure the AF is more lenient on technology.

Army boot camp is a joke, which is why you don't have to go to their boot camp if you're switching from another branch. If you even mentioned a cell phone in Navy or Marine boot camp you'd get your ass worked out.

    / thread.
