ive checked frys, compusa, and online
those are pretty easy to make you know, just take the connector off one of the ends and make sure you know which way it came off, cut it to the length you need and as long as the correct pin punctures the right trace, you'll have a custom length IDE cable as far as I know this only works with single device cables, I haven't attempted this feat myself but it loots to be easy. and from the pic..all thats happened to the one you have is..the back popped off..it should still work
Yea if the clip didnt break, but just came loose just reattach it. You might even be able to glue the one side if the tab broke off.
teh clips broke
when i first got it i tried it out and pulled the ribbon off but the back end of the connector spanned off
i just used a spare connector as a donor
I've made many 40 wire IDE cables but never an 80. Those wires are sooo close together if you're off by a tiny bit you'll short it. Also, when cutting the cable, you have to be careful that none of the wires pull out (each conductor is a stranded wire) and short against a neighbor.
