I just wanted to discuss a few things.
So was it Lucy at the door?
i dont remember, i have the dvds here but have not watched the ending in over a year.
i hope it was lucy and not nuuuuuuuuuuuuu
same person , all he has to do is hit her over the head or something
it was nyuu
Aren't Nyuu and Lucy the same person?
lucy >>>>>>>> nyu
Did they have the same voice actor? Their voices were so different.
same VA, she is just great.
but of course
I still don't get why Kouta still loved her even though she killed his family in front of him.
she's hot man, what does it matter
I'm going through this section's favorites list. Bought and watched the whole series, episodes 5-12 in one sitting. Weird mix of a show, embarrassing at first because it's so here and there, but towards the middle you get hooked. Man though, the people in that series are just so fucked up.
-So that was Lucy at the end, but does the clock starting all of a sudden signify the beginning of the next step in the human race, like the scientists were talking about? It seemed like Lucy tried to turn a new leaf on the steps, but then she goes and slaughters another group of soldiers so maybe not.
-What the hell is with the secretary that gets slaughtered in the beginning? She gets brought up repeatedly but forms no major role and has only a couple of lines. Does she play some more expanded role in the manga or something? The only thing I could come up with was that Lucy's split personality was created as something of a copy of Kisaragi's bumbling persona.
that was lucy at the end. like many symbolic things presented in entertainment, the viewer is given partialy freedom to come up with their own meaning... the clock IMO represents lucy being fixed, or more appropriately losing her lucy side and living as the innocent nyuu that kouhta loves.
incase you didn't see the OVA, lucy promised kurama that she would kill everyone close to him as revenge. i don't believe the manga mentions any more than the anime about coffee girl. it is assumed through the little bit of story you get from her is that her and kurama have feelings for each other. So lucy kills her right infront of him and slowly passes leaving him alive just to keep her promise. As for her personality, i believe it is suppose to be a fresh start... kinda giving back her innocence.
Got to track down the OVA, didn't come in the collection I got. I don't think it was ever released here anyway, so I got to find a fansub.
I see what you're saying about the fresh start. The music box stopping would mean that the sadness she felt (the reason she like that haunting tune) had stopped. Something about that clock though. I think the scientists used clock terminology several times when talking about having the diclonius start the new race.
I guess they give you two options to go with to close out the story, although the happy ending seems easier to take. The last battle between her and the soldiers is kind of weird though, tacked on, if she just returns back to Nyu after.
I know that Youtube isn't the best place to be getting info, but I saw several postings on there mentioning a new season. From wiki, I see that the anime only covered the first half of the manga series, although it strays toward the end, so who knows.
i believe i upped the OVA on the server, don't think it was ever dubbed or released in america.
well i don't think its possible for the diclonius to really spread and set the human evolution they were talking about... i mean pretty much its just nyuu and nana left and neither of them are going to infect people.
i think she is kinda forced into her last rampage, otherwise she probably would of died.
i read the manga up to close to where the anime ended, at that time that was all that was translated, so i haven't gotten back to it and i think it would have ended at the same place. i personally wouldn't want another season.
I agree, I think it ended perfectly. Another season would ruin it.
Yeah, they ended this series very nicely, though I was in a horribly depressed mood when I watched it, and most of the series did not help my mood. Heh.
Well, wasn't she trying to fix the clock through out the series? And now she finally succeeded. I'm more inclined to read into the emotional fixing of Lucy/nyuu, than the diclonius point of view. She was broken in the beginning, and had her personalities split, but now she's fixed.
The battle has her horns shot off, which initially makes you think she dies, but then the sillouette implies that she did not die. Because she had her horn(s?) shot off, she may have a chance at leading a normal life, and not ending the human species.
My two cents.
watch saikano, that cheered me up. i didn't like any of the characters, and they all died ^_^
i guess i will watch that next.
it's supposed to be depressing, but since i didnt get attached to any of the characters (on the contrary, i didn't like them), i didnt give a shit when they died. except for one of them, when she died i was sad
I liked the way it ended, but b/w the manga > anime.
