should i takew the day off every other or should i grind it out 5-6 days a week?
You have to consider :
4) Supps if needed.
You don't grow in the lifting room, you grow while you recover so get some days off. 3-4 days of lifting a week is usually enough.
well i eat like im 300 lbs but i wiegh 138 . think 3 dinners a night. and i never feel sore the next day but still do my workouts untill my form is compromised

dawt what kinda training, how long do you train, how hard are you training etc. in the end u gotta be real careful and have ur shit down to a science or its welcome to overtraining, population: you.
3 dinners = less than 2k unless you're eating double cheeseburgers.
For me, it would be bad. Definite overtraining.
I workout 5-6 days a week, and Im still making progress.
as long as you aren't overtraining that's fine, there's no set number of days
if you notice:
a)constantly feel tired
b)don't feel recovered
c)decrease in strength (or even stagnant)
d)lack of desire to lift
then you might be overtraining and therefore in a burnout stage
if you ate like your 300 you wouldnt be 138 unless your running marathons for workouts
