I just formatted and installed Leopard. Can I just copy my iTunes and iPhoto databases where they go and everything will work fine?

How does iPhoto work? I only use it for certain photos. When I drag photos in, does iPhoto remember where that file is or does it copy it to it's own database?

iPhoto works like iTunes in that regard, in which you can decide where the files are stored and whether or not the photos get copied or not.

In short, yes, you can just drop the database where it will be read by either program and you'll be good to go.

For instance. I keep all of my music on a server, iTunes knows where my files are according to that. If and when I change machines/upgrade/clean in stall or whatever, I just have to copy the backed up library for my iTunes and I'll be ready to go as soon as it finishes importing. Voila.

For a good time, go to
