I know what they said but who else thinks they have a cam in that v8? Could be a higher lift cam from the factory but if that was the case I would think they would have had CARB issues.

that car doesnt have an aftermarket set of cams in it. Ive heard a 4.6 with aftermarket cams, they sound much meaner than that.
JBA just owns.
All the ones I have seen on the net have been doing low 280's to low 290's. If it was 253 it must have been on a "Mustang" dyno.
It's not the cams, if you listen their are points of the stock idle and then the "lopy" section from 11 till about 13.5 seconds. You can still hear the stock idle in the background. The longtubes create that lopy effect. It's really noticeable when you pull away from a dead stop at a normal rate. It's like you can hear the exhaust pinging or pulsing down the primaries. I don't know the technical way to explain it, but if you have been around Mustangs with longtubes you know what I am talking about.

did you not read the whole article? the low numbers were due to the auto tranny as they couldnt get decent numbers out of it due to it shifting.
They were actually able to make the 4.6 sound bad...

JBA uses mustang dynos. My 94 dynoed at like 313rwhp there, but it was way faster than my LS1 car.
If only I had $25,000 lying around.
