I thought about picking up the one of El Guapo but decided against it. I don't want to pay a premium for a figure that doesn't look like him

Hardly. They both sold out so I'd say to them it was a success. I bought 2 of each and I'll resell a couple of them for double what I paid.

As a business venture, they succeeded in making money, because there are lots of little fanboys who will buy any little toy that makes them feel closer to the people they watch on TV.

As an artistic endeavor to accurately and attractively reproduce a likeness, they failed miserably.

You know who else has succeeded? McDonalds. They have succeeded in making the best hamburger in the entire world. I mean I dont know about you, but when I think of high quality hamburgers, I think of mcdonalds.

That was a beautifully written rant. I didn't buy them to make me feel closer to them. I'm a collector plus I'll be able to flip a couple of them to make a profit. Pretty simple really.
