just swaped in the LS1
waiting for the dyno to free up and get a decent tune in her
not to bad
made 383 to the wheels on a loaded roller though a 4500 stall with stock 3.42's
i wish i could've afforded to keep my 94 formy and buy my explorer.
well it was great while it lasted. Think i must have spun a berring cause went from having 60-80 psi oil pressure to 20 at WOT and there was no signs of anything that would have caused the problem anywhere in the engine. I'm ready to part the fucking thing out now. done.
That ur car in the AV? More pics?
well that sucks
tried replacing some shit tonight, its done. better luck next year i guess
thats cool you got it n there. Sorry to hear about the bearing.
Would you happen to have an ls6 intake for sale cheap?
I'll give ya $3.50 for it .
Good luck! Hopefully it's a fluke.
its gods chariot
I tore it down most of the way and still haven't found a problem. They only thing that it can be is a spun bearing in the bottom end. I already pulled the cam and all of thoes bearings were fine. The only thing that I did in the bottom end was swap out the rod bolts for some ARP's, but i did it the same way that everybody on tech as well as local f body guys have been doing it for years. So that could have caused a problem but i highly doubt was the cause. I think i just got feed a story by the guy i bought the motor from at this point but its not worth disputing because that was so long ago. Looks like something is floting around in the oil somewhere, had some scaring on the lifters and some of the cam lobes. I really don't see what it could be because I changed it mutiple times before it even saw any load and it always came out clean. After cutting openthe filter there was some of the usual small amounts of metal and some of the paint from the markins on the cam, but no copper or anything from the bearings. I still think there may be something loged in one of the passages some where, but at this point I would rater spend the 2500 or so to have the guy that does out engines assemble a forged 347 and know that everything is right from the get go. When i pulled the pickup tube for the first time after the first 300 miles, i saw what appeared to be filter medium from the oil filter. So some of that could have been small enough to make it past the screen and get jamed up somewhere. It just sucks because he is a one man show and it takes months to get an engine some times but we have never had a motor of his fail yet. Alteast on of the guys is into the hight 8's with his iron 408 and a big shot. So shit happens, I knew it would at some point, just not this soon. Just wished it happened over the winter so I could have had it running this summer. So it could be a bearing or something loged. Not sure yet but the only thing i'm seeing to think about the bearing would be oil pressure loss. Everything else that is usual assocated with that such as copper in the oil and sometimes knock was never present.
