I finally made the conversion from gymrat to powerlifter (well some what of a pler). I flew up to Keene NH friday night got weighed in (215) then went to sleep for like 12 hours cause I was really sick and wanted to rest as much as possible. Woke up the next day got in early. The meet was at a Gold's Gym where they just cleared some room so you could bench/dead. The head of the APA went over the rules and explained how it would all go. Warmed up on the bench and waited for my turn I opended with 315 then went for 335 both were easy but then I went for 355 and got redlighted so that sucked. Then it was time to deadlift, warmed up again 425 opener moved to 475 then went for 500 and hit that. I wish I would have gone a little heavier than 500 for my last but I was nervouse because of last time I pulled it it was not clean and would have got redlighted. Instead of trophys they gave out battle axes and swords. I got a sword for 1st juniors push/pull. Which is cool but I think I was the only one in that class. Vid of me deadlifting 500: http://uploadhut.com/view.php/22417.mov Sorry for the yelling that was my dad, he came to help as my handler.
