Just had the Engine Dynoed today @ 10psi - 696hp, 730tq
THe boat one correct?
holy crap...whats that from?
Yes. We're going to run it at only 7psi and with the stock exhaust manifolds though.
These numbers are with a 600CFM carb!
-454 w/ 4 bold main bored and stroked to 510ci. I don't know much more about it then that.
-Edelbrock Performer RPM 454-R Marine Heads. 2.25" intake valves, 1.89" Inconel exhaust valves.
-Procharger Marine Supercharger with Air-Water intercooler. 10psi.
-Custom roller cam
-Forged rods, crank, pistons (8.5:1CR)
-Holley 600cfm carb
-Stock intake (clearance issues)
going into this:
thats pimp, not bad numbers for a boosted 510. Dont be a pussy, you have 8.5 compression pistons, run the 10 psi.
we want long term reliabilty. 10psi will wear the engine faster.
yeah, but with that low of a compression, 10 psi isnt that unrealistic. Especially since it is a centrifugal, and it is not huge either. The only serious wear you are going to get is normal stuff. The major problem with boosted engines is detonation, and you pretty much eliminated that with the lower compression. As long as it is tuned right, you can push it even higher if you have the fuel/desire.
how is that proof
Damn that's gonna be sweet.
with as low a compression as he is running, detonation shouldnt be a problem, even running ~13.0 a/f
everyone in the automotive world knows that a chevy >*
i drive a honda.
yea, i dont see a 510 having isssues at 10 psi
mopar stuff is expensive
Is that a lot for a speed boat (I have no idea).
This thread needs more raceboat
classic mopars are cooler than classic fords and classic GM's though.
at least in my opinion
I dont share that sentiment, but its clear that many do, seerice of old mopar v. others.
Get your ricer out of here.
Very impressive numbers. And I loge the curve on your tourque. Its gunna pull like a bitch if you can get it to hook
