it's the best crime film evah
I'm a monster fan of Infernal Affairs 1 & 2 (don't bother seeing 3), and I think Scorsese is consistently the best director going today. I was disappointed in The Departed though. I thought Nicholson was way too over the top, and the changes they made to the Infernal Affairs script just didn't make sense.
Although I'm sure if I saw Departed before IA, I'd be thinking the opposite.
Goodfellas used to be my favorite Mob Movie, but this is just as fine.
I saw the movie and you didnt know wtf was going on through the whole thing. pure awesomeness
i hope you're all kidding.....
overrated as hell
and everyone should have known who was who except for the 1 guy who was a minor charachter anyway,,,,,but without a spoiler i can't be more specfic about all the reasons i was dis appointed by this movie
I'm going to have to go with 'overrated.' Good nonetheless, I'll probably buy it, but it is far from the best cop movie ever made. That honor still goes to Se7en in my book. I'd give it an 8-9/10, but I don't see how it's some amazing, mindblowing movie.
For the casual movie goer, the movie was great!!
yeah GO FUCK YOSELF
pretty much what he said...basically the movie is a ripoff of a 2002 chinese movie "infernal affairs".
when they said the US movie industry is running out of ideas, they sure weren't lying (look out for "my sassy girl" remake coming up later this year). and also I wouldn't be surprise if there were sequels in the near future for the departed...(movie rejects aka straight to dvds)
IMO, movie was still ok...not great. okay
i'm still rockin the dvd screener i got from SAG
I thought The Departed was a good movie. To be honest, I found Infernal Affairs and The Departed equally as good.
I hear they are also remaking Oldboy and Battle Royale.
decent film, but could have been shorter.
I thought it was overrated. I just wanted it to end
I thought it was rather funny
seein jack throw coke at the black chick made that movie for me!
Infernal Affairs 1 & 3 were actually written as one story, 2 was thrown into the mix to make a trilogy.
If you watch IA 2, you'll see A LOT of godfather parallels. The storylines are practically the same.
