That's just weird.
I know, when I do their paperwork, I see 1989 or 1990 and right away i feel old.
Oof. One more year and kids born the year I enlisted can join. Both of the units I served in are gone (one deactivated with 6LID, one merged into the 105th Cavalry during reorganization). Most of the weapons I trained with and used have been replaced.
Where's my damn Geritol and muscle cream?
I felt the same way when I was doing the security packages for people applying for secret clearances...and I'm only 23.
I remember when I was one of the youngest guys at my last command. Kids that were born just prior to Desert Storm and think "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is an oldie seems just plain wrong.
we just got a 18 year old mechanic female marine. oh snap.
but im 89 and I still cant join...im just a junior in HS
I just love the 22 year old fresh out of ROTC officers. Especially when they try to tell the 8 year NCOs that are getting out how much harder it is in the "real world". Like they even have a clue themselves what that's like!
Yeah, those are the ones that get no help from the enslisted corps.
Thats crazy. We have three new guys coming in March and another in May. Insanity.
