he benched 415 @ 186 lbs.
so wiat... when he says he made it his niche to do contest prep for 3-5 months before shows does that mean he simply wasn't training the rest of the year or does he mean he just went from casual training to pro level serious shit?
he's said before that after a show he'd take 6 months off and not train at all
then come back and do the fucking olympia. shits unreal
I toa mah pec
Think he's got the myostatin mutation?
wait did he lose all the weight after retiring? I didn't recognize him at all.
He seems like a cool guy. Kick back and not too serious. I remember seeing some video of him doing bb incline with 4 plates for reps.
Yeah, Levrone is a straight-up badass.
dude still looks awesome
Jesus fucking Christ. I hope he is full of shit.
If he really never trained hard year round then at 46 years old he will NEVER realize what his full potential might have been. That is just sad.
Not really man.
Not everyone wants to be in the gym 3 hours a day for YEARS on end....
He didn't have to, what's wrong with making life easier on yourself?
That's what I hate it when people talk shit about things "people didn't work for"....motherfucker, since when is life not about having fun and taking it easy? You wanna work hard every single day of your life just to die?
He had arguably one of the best physiques ever to walk the planet. What more potential could there be?
I agree to a degree. It reminds me of that guy who ran in the olympics last year who set a new WR and slowed down the last 20 out of a 100m sprint.
He explained himself fairly clearly though, that he couldn't do that to himself 12 months out of a year. He has a life to live the other 9 months, he has a son and other interests. If he can get away with doing it 3 months out of a year then all the power to his lucky-genetically-enhanced ass.
Edison was one of the brightest to have ever lived, he could have stopped 1/4 of the way through his career and still have been the best. What more could he have possibly offered, right?
It's a bit different though. Levrone brought the best package ever to the olympia stage, judged against the best there were.
Does nobody else think maybe taking that time off training/dieting/drugs combined with his genetics was what made him one of the best? think about it.
It's like, if someone told you "we can give you 100 million dollars to live the rest of your life, or you can work your ass off everyday and make 100 million dollars by the time you die...."
And you are gonna chose to work hard the rest of your life?
It was more directed to the last sentence, though this vid works pretty well too
I wouldn't enjoy my life if I didn't have something to work for. If someone said I could work the rest of my life and make $100mil or take $100mil, I'd work for it.
What would you do with your ideal physique? I'd be lost as hell.
edit: I actually enjoy my work.
whoops lol I used the wrong smile...
