might as well be a heavyweight fight. just let em show up and not worry about a weight cut.
Looks like they wanted a couple more big names to ensure that the card is the highest selling yet. Forget about quality, throw Chuck and Randy's face on a poster with Lesnar and Carwin and you're golden
Not only will this fight be boring as fuck, it'll make Couture the #1 LHW contender.
So? I'm never counting Randy out of the title contention again.
By beating somebody who's not in the title picture?
beating chuck means nothing
randy could still hang with anyone in the LW division of the UFC
why shouldn't he be in the title hunt
that fucker is immune to age
he lost to Lesnar, ok, well most of you fuckers seem to think Lesnar is the greatest fighter that's ever lived so that shouldn't mean shit.
I might be the biggest Couture sackrider here, but I think he'd get smashed by Jon Jones.
and i personally felt he lost to Vera
For us hard core mma fans, it's nothing we want to see...but these are 2 of the biggest names in mma so of course Dana's gonna put that fight together.
I guess Tito and Ken Shamrock weren't available?
He beat can't the elite LHWs. Truthfully though, even if he can win, I don't want to watch him get the belt by smothering the shit out of someone for 25 minutes.
That won't stop Dana from having Couture fight for the belt again. It's a big money fight and since the UFC wants to take their sweet time in building up Jones, the stars are aligning for a Couture vs. Machida/Rua title fight.
It's either that or Rashad if he beats Rampage, right? Am I forgetting anyone?
I can't possibly see him beating any of the elite light heavyweights either, but Randy has the ability to suprise everyone and win when nobody expects it. I'm not saying anything original obviously.
I can't see him beating any champions, but I always say that and he just keeps winning belts.
People who say they are never counting Randy out again are apparently not taking into consideration his chin isn't what it used to be. He'd get demolished by any top 10 guy now.
And he'd get destroyed by Machida and Shogun.
when he gets smashed by shogun then we'd know he's done.
until then the guy has earned another run at the top guys at 205 imo
who has been able to come back and get to the top more than cpt america the guy is a freak of nature, 780 years old and still brawling with guys in their prime
I was going to ask for evidence, then I saw who I was quoting.
Carry on, troll.
For those who said that Randy won't fight for the belt with a win over Liddell:
1. Has everyone forgotten how the UFC promoted Couture-Coleman at 109? They said repeatedly that the fight would have title implications and they sure as shit weren't talking about Coleman. They used that fight and the Vera fight before that to push Randy towards the 205 belt.
2. Who else in the LHW division is looking at a title shot following Shogun-Machida?
Maybe Rashad if he gets past Rampage, but two wins since losing the belt doesn't make him worthy of another shot. Not to mention one of those wins was a snoozefest against Thiago Silva.
Dana already said that Jon Jones is a year away from a title shot, so he's out.
So who does that leave? I guess Lil' Nog could be the #1 contender if he beats Forrest for his 7th straight win, but even that's kind of weak.
Am I forgetting anyone? PLEASE RESPOND.
wtf is this.
It is a lose lose scenario I think. Whoever loses will "retire" again probably, and the winner isn't in serious contention for the belt.
Jon Jones would obliterate Randy, Chuck, and lil nog. Let's see those matches first.
