did the skinny kid win?
After this video he was delt smashed to death
didnt you see him on top of the podium
that one BB is holding an ipod LMAO.
Hard to tell whether BBers were amused or just plain pissed because of their state.
haha, i wish i had to balls to pull some shit like that
confused/pissed/bothered would be my guess. not exactly funny when you spend so much time, and dedicate yourself to a sport only to finally step on a stage and have some skinny douche mocking you and all your hard work.
exactly. while I find this hilarious I would be somewhat insulted if I was a legitimate bber.
It's not a sport but yes I'd be pissed off too. BB's suffer a fuckton to get on stage lol.
First of all great for him to have the balls to do that and great for the real competitors to not really give a fuck about the comedian kid
Sorry anti-T people you do NOT get to say this:
OMG ROID RAGING STEROID FREAKS CAN'T HANDLE A LITTLE JOKE!!!!!
whatever you want to call it.
People get too sensitive to call it what it is.
A male beauty pageant.
yeah, i guess. i have no shame when it comes to admitting things like that, but i look at it as a sport as well. A sport in which the "practice" involves 24 hours a day of your time, 365 days a year, whoever practices more in the kitchen, the gym and in bed, does better. excluding genetic factors, but its a competition to me regardless and a very tough and grueling one. Either way I could care less what people choose to call it and ive never even been on a stage so no point caring that much even if i had the desire to.
A competition sounds more suiting than a sport, or a beauty pageant.
what a clown. I wouldn't get upset if i was on stage and that happened. People that do that usually do it out of jealousy/admiration and crave attention that they don't deserve.
I could seeing half thinking its funny, and the other half wanting to kill him.
bb'ing is absolutely a sport. that nga nudesy is trollin.
The IFBB does not consider themselves a sporting organization.
Competitions that are purely subjective do not qualify as sports, period. Despite what any dictionary definition says. If you go by dictionary definitions, anything can be considered a sport, even going hogging with GTLifter.
Sport, to me, is excellence in human activity/movement. Sport is physical mastery and the ability to prove physical superiority over another competitor. In bodybuilding, it is the illusion (eg looks) of physical superiority that gives you points/win (purely subjective), not your actual ability to show you have physical mastery. Now, subjective is not all bad. For example, I consider gymnastics to be a sport, but not bodybuilding. Because despite all style and flare, a gymnast still has to be able to prove physical superiority over their competitors. A bodybuilder has to give the illusion that he is in better shape, that's all.
So no, it's not a sport. I know NPC guys that step on stage routinely that don't consider it a sport. One should not deem something a sport just to make it seem more legitimate to you.
It is what it is, the art of presenting the best body to the judges (and that best body criteria changes every quite often). It's an art, not a sport. A competition, not a sport.
That said, I think bodybuilding poses the most effort to the mind and body than almsot any other competition around.
If you go by dictionary definition, anything can be considered a sport.
How about you actually address the post ? I'm guessing it's hard to. BB at the end of the day is a beauty pagaen, I've actually talked to near IFBB guys that don't consider it a sport for the same reasons I do.
if you negate dictionary definitions than there is zero point arguing.
I like this topic because I like the different opinions, it's interesting to me.
But ther'es no real way to argue it's a sport. There is nothing physical about the competition itself. Unlike other subjective sports, such as gymnastics and/or figure skating etc, there is actual physical mastery. There is zero physical mastery or athletic ability required in bodybuilding; therefor it's not a sport.
At the heart of it you are judged purely how you look, therefor it's a beauty pagean. That's what beauty pageant's are, you are judged only on what you look like. What you do to attain that look is irrelevant.
OK, well, the dictionary definition is:
"an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature.."
What is athletic about bodybuilding? What skill is required during ACTUAL competition? How long you can hold a pose?
You can't argue it either way brotits. It's not a sport, it's a competition. You are judged on how you look, not on your physical performance or physical ability over your competitor. You are judged on the illusion of that; eg: beauty pageant.
