I met him at a trek convention in El Paso. No one wanted his autograph :hsd:
It just depends shows are all different.

If tickets are expensive and there are already a lot of "heavy hitters" charging a premium for autographs/photos then a lot of times people just run out of money and can't pay for every actor autograph/picture they want. :hs: :hs:

@SBrooks1 can you confirm
He's right. The more popular the celeb the more attention they'll get over the lesser known ones. I was at Motor City Comic Con and Martin Starr from Freaks and Geeks and Silicon Valley was there just walking around in the crowd (because nobody was coming to his booth) and nobody recognized him or was saying hi. I felt bad for him.

Kevin Conroy had zero people waiting for an autograph here in Dallas at our old comic con one year. I had brought my copy of batman Arkham asylum for him to sign, but I went waaaaay over my budget on memorabilia. In hindsight I regret not getting that autograph.

I regret not getting a picture with him multiple times now that he's passed.

pfft you pay to go to a convention and then you pay for individual photos and autographs? That’s annoying. Makes me want to be less of a fan

I hear what you are saying but if "guests" go to the con every year or have been there 5 out of the last 7 years then a lot of people who wanted his picture/autograph have already gotten it.

Very facts and circumstances dependent.

On a lighter note we were between photo sessions and we went into one of the hall's to hear Conroy speak.

Dude was an awesome public speaker and told a great story about "perchance to dream" and how it was one of his favorite episodes how the animators had to work with voice actors mouth movements in animation etc etc.

Really interesting stuff.

They’re not paid to appear at the convention in general? What about royalties?
Some get appearance fees, some keep all their signature/photo money/some have to split up to a certain point.

It is all a business/negotiation and the bigger the start the more favorable terms they can demand.

All I remember is being told some guests DEMANDED they be paid in cash before leaving the event their photo/autograph money.

Which I somewhat understand that, if the promoter stiffs them they have no legal recourse out of state/attorneys fees.

But it is legit a business.

after looking at his imdb page, I don't think he's ever been in anything I've seen, other than MAYBE one episode of Spenser: For Hire.

Yep at the table

Then they have "professional" photo people and have to split with them and or the promoter as well.
I don’t like that as a matter of principle. Guess I’ll be going to conventions but not getting autographs and photos. I wanna dress up though. Gotta convince the wife to come too :o

Bro this is crazy I can’t believe these people still exist (I mean obviously they do) but their whole thing is just being on convention circuits

Kinda feel for them even though they’re making lots of people happy :hsd:
It's funny, this chick is there for American Horror Story but my wife knows her from Virgin River and will get a pic with her because of that
