"Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can
All the same old clichés, is it woman, is it man?
And you always seem outnumbered, so you don't dare make a stand"

There's a definite pro-alien slant in this show. There are some scary aliens, but we get most of the great villains from the humans.

I’ve been reading more American history lately and one thing that struck me is how often “___________ first!” was used particularly in the 20th century. I’m sure a lot of people today think Trump invented it or something. But it’s been around forever.

Lindbergh, Goldwater, Reagan are the people I can think of off the top of my head. So I’m not surprised they had this dialogue in the show if the writers did their research.

You'll see a lot of direct political allegory. One interesting thing is that Clinton was president when this show was made, and JMS is pretty left wing.

The Fifty-Year Mission The Next 25 Years by Mark A. Altman and Edward Gross included a quote by Todd which detailed why the episode was so important to him. According to Todd, his aunt, who had raised him, had passed away three months before he shot “The Visitor.” He was heartbroken and depressed as his aunt was his best friend, the woman who helped him become the man he was. So when he received the script, he believed it came from her.

God damn those onions were real :wtc:
