Star Trek novels used to be pretty good from what I remember, though it's been a good 20 years since I read one.at least SW has good expanded universe outside their feature films
The only ST novels I've read were the Imzadi ones, which were pretty good.Star Trek novels used to be pretty good from what I remember, though it's been a good 20 years since I read one.
edit: SW & ST written universes were both really good back in the 90s, actually. Apparently there were a bunch of Babylon 5 novels too but I never read or even heard about any of those.![]()

Actually I read a few WIlliam Shatner ones, which is probably why I think ST books suck
yesi feel like any Shatner Trek novel likely reads as low grade Kirk fanfic.
The novel begins on the planet Veridian III and takes place shortly after the events seen in the motion picture Star Trek Generations. The body of James T. Kirk is stolen by the Romulans after his burial by fellow Starfleet captain Jean-Luc Picard. The Borg have formed an alliance with the Romulan Star Empire in order to destroy the Federation. Using alien technology, the Borg bring Kirk back to life and his katra is restored, but false memories are implanted to turn him against the Federation. The goal of this secret alliance is to destroy Picard and therefore Starfleet's only defense against the Borg but, despite his conditioning, Kirk is able to resist commands to kill Worf, Data, and Geordi La Forge, all of whom are attacked by him during his search for Picard.
it was this one

It really is a story about Kirk being resurrected by the borg to save the galaxy
i think
that synopsisI mean to be honest its no worse than Nemesis' plot
Just from what I've read over the years, he seems to be a bizarre dude. I guess he doesnt do many/any cons or panels, apparently won't discuss reprising the role at length, hasnt done any significant acting since, and has mostly distanced himself from the lifestyle. Which is kinda strange given that he wanted to be a hollywood actor to begin with. The more I rewatch DS9, he/his character did get a bit more odd as time went on.been seeing some TikTok videos of interviews, and they asked Dorn the differences between TNG and DS9 on set and he said "TNG we were laughing al the time. DS9 was, not that way. it was quiet and serious". Others allude to difficulty working with Avery Brooks. Even Armin said they didn't joke, and between legit trying to make the best thing they could make and tip toeing around Avery it was often somber. He'd call the other ferengi actors to his house Saturday and Sunday before filming a ferengi centric episode and they'd work on it themselves all weekend to prep for the shoot. The DS9 crew seemed to work the hardest to never get a movie
with Troi right there maybe he was hoping they would.
The Karen haircut has turned me off since before I knew there were things that turned me on, apparently.
now the troi cheerleader hair/outfit OTOH...The Karen haircut has turned me off since before I knew there were things that turned me on, apparently.![]()
