It's a work in progress, so I could use some constructive criticism. Thanks.
I hate the horse, I hate the black grid line in the middle, I hate that you cannot click on anything you have designed to see larger versions. The design is not groundbreaking, in that a lot of people use the "Table of Elements" thumbnails (Adobe anyone?). Really don't like that, on my 22" monitor, when I go to all the galleries it's just bunched up in the top with nothing in the rest of the area, just blank space.
With that said, I think you are on your way to something nice looking, just needs to be cleaned up IMO.
It's airy in all the wrong ways. You need contrast even when you're going low-contrast. You break the form of the site by dropping off the logo and switching to a centered layout for each of the content areas, it feels disjointed and random. Keep some element of your website constant.
It took me about a minute to find out how to contact you, you're making the person work for it, and you shouldn't. It shouldn't be called documents, it should be called contact. And even then your email is harsh and low-contrast to the point of unreadability.
You need to include larger versions of your work and the hover effect is non-obvious and feels out of place, I'd rather just click and see a large version.
For someone who does logo design, you've made yours quite small, small and forgettable. In fact as I write this I have no idea what it was.
On a wide-screen monitor the empty space is overwhelming, it doesn't even qualify as whitespace because of just how distracting the middle pattern is and on the content pages, how harsh the gradient is. The horse looks poorly extracted and far from vibrant or expressive. Do you want to be associated with a horse? Also, the way it covers the pattern in the middle is just distracting. Use a different photo or none at all.
You've missed subtly, your design slaps me in the face and even still, makes me work for the privilege. Remove the middle pattern, make it easier to contact you, maintain a constant look and feel other than an overly harsh background gradient and use your space more wisely.
Get the horse out of there and it's really nicely done.
Enlarge the logo.
Try it out
why is there a horse there?
lol @ horse
No just simply NO.
'No Sir, I don't like it.' - the horse
The checkerboard is killing me
OK, OK, I get it. It sucks. I will keep working on it. Thanks for being honest.
It's not too bad a little busy
mine is similiar but i use the lightbox2 in addition
The dark transparent fade in background doesn't extend the entire width of your page in Firefox 2.
