Are there any hurdles I need to jump through? I thought about putting it up on Craigslist, but I'm not sure how the whole purchase permit thing works. Can anybody offer me some insight?

You need to check with your local gun laws. They vary state to state and you need to make sure you follow YOUR laws, what others can suggest and do in other parts of the country means nothing to you.

In many states, a simple face to face transaction is allowed.

However, in many states its not. Any state with any kind of waiting period its likely not. You'll need to go through an FFL or your state police in some states and they will help carry out the transaction and do the appropriate background checks etc.

You cannot sell to anyone out of state without going through an FFL in THEIR HOME state.

Didn't know that about craigslist. Thanks guys. I need to figure out how much this thing is actually worth.

Blasphemy, you must keep it!

Join the Beretta forums and sell it to someone on there. It's a big site, I'm sure there are MI members that would love to take it off your hands.

Well they go for ~$350 brand new... so, depending on what kind of condition it is in, and how many rounds you've put through it... I'm going to say possibly as high as $300 for mint condition, and probably more realistically $200-$250.

PS, I own the exact same gun. If I could, I'd buy it, but I don't have the money, and I'm not in MI.
