The last GTO rolled off the line in Australia on June 7th. The last batch of new GTOs should be Stateside by this August if not earlier. If you've been thinking of getting on fresh from the showroom this is your last chance. The last Monaro was produced last Fall and auctioned on eBay.au for charity. The GTO was planned for three years, 18,000 a year. It wasn't popular enough to warrant full production but it did go it's entire production cycle. Holden is phasing out the chassis the GTO uses (as well as all it's large cars) to make room for their new, Australia-engineered replacement called Zeta. The car to debut this chassis will be the redesigned, VE Commodore which has been spied and posted in this forum already. The new Camaro will also be using this chassis in addition to a new GTO if GM decides to resurrect the name.
