no idea on sizes huh?
This should be sweet. Might look into one of these towards Christmas.
ill prob get a apple labtop when i transfer schools this summer.
pretty cool, i wonder if it will run super hot like the old ibooks...or mac book pros for that matter
i want one of these, but i will wait a few months for them to work out the bugs
Can't wait to see what kind of graphics they use.
I need to see if I can get enough cash to pay for half and see if my parents will pay for the other half for my birthday.
Well, being that the Mini and the iBook shared similar graphics, I would go with Intel 950GMA Integrated.
Maybe they'll have an option for like an ATI X300 Mobile though.
its gonna cost slightly more than current ibooks D=
Still faster than the non-CoreImage Radeon 9200 that was in the G4 Minis
For MPEG/Video stuff, it's more than likely fine. It should be able to play WoW at ok framerates, but we'll see.
I'll look around for 950GMA benchmarks on OS X + Mini.
Here's some WoW figured, little down the page.
They could improve the performance later down the road if they choose... well, maybe. Wonder how GMA950 does in XP? That would be a good indication of what it's "capable" of and what Apple exposes.
will the macbooks look like the pros or will they look like cheap ibooks?
whoa what the fuck... new update from today
Additional sources have confirmed the MacBook's announcement this Tuesday. Further, sources report that the MacBook will be thinner than current iBooks, will be available in both black and white configurations, and will likely cost slightly more than previous iBook models—not unlike the price increase Apple's Mac mini saw with its transition to Intel processors.
Depending on how the Black looks I might take one in black.
And the price increase I've been preparing for.
Lets alll guess in prices...
1499 for the basic one, and 1699 for the upgraded processor. What does everyone think the processor speeds will be? Idk what the intels com in but I could easily see the 1699 being a 1.83, the only way it could stay that cheap and it become a 2.0 is for them to drop the iSight.
Basic one used to be what, $999? So I'm going to say they are upping it to $1099 or $1199 with a Core Solo. Then $1499 with a Core Duo.
It wont be more then $100-200 more then the base price of $1k
that base price is of the 12inch.
These are coming in a 13.3 inch widescreen monitor, so you have to compensate for the larger screen.
i think there will be one for 1200, and one for 1500.. apple really i don't think would make the least expensive more than 1200, seeing as how these laptops are aimed alot for schools and such, and most college children don't have gobs of money..
mark my words, it wont be more then $1099 or $1199 as a base price. Also, the 13.3 inch monitor will look very close to the current 12". it will be roughly the same height as the 12" and it will be very slightly longer, hardly noticable.
Yeah, I just looked back at my post and made it thinking of the larger iBook.
