Okay, I has a problem. paging: scottwax & others. My mom's 2002 chevy impala has a bit of an issue with wetsanding marks, because I suck they're 2000 grit marks, and I'm having some fucking trouble taking them off. I don't have a buffer, and will not be buying one, since this is the only time I'm ever gonna need it. I filled all the stone chips with putty, then primed and painted, but haven't clearcoated most of the spots yet b/c my mom freaked out about how the paint looked with teh sanding marks. So, I sanded it flat and tried to polish it out with the compound that came with the kit I bought. EPIC fail; I'm thinking their stupid 1600 grit they gaveme feels a lot more like 800. My current plan: gonna hit it with 2000 grit, then some polishing compound. But I dunno... is there a better way? The paint that I put on is pretty damn thin now I dunno How much would a pro detailer charge for something like this?
