eyewitness' said that it was in a flat spin before the pilot ejected, but who knows?

From what I hear so far, it was catastrophic dual engine failure. I know the Collateral Duty Inspector Marine that last signed off the aircraft on its last major inspection. He's not at the unit anymore, currently on a B billet, but I'm sure he got a call from NCIS already.

Dual engine failure? Sounds like someone left some tools somwhere.

that's what I was thinking as well. Someone dropped the ball for something this bad to have happened. Then again, it could have been an accident where something just went eletronically/mechanically wrong. Very unfortunate either way.
