Can you get anything good here?
you can get suits
you're going to love the way you look, he guarantees it
but as usual, you can get better with more money too.
that guy never ages
I've had great luck there. All the other suit stores around here suck.
Of course, it's geared towards older men so finding a youthful fit may be difficult. I don't go there for style. I got to look professional and they professional very well.
Agree with other posters, good stuff, but more money=better stuff at other places.
They do have very limited smaller sizes and 'youthful' or more modern, slimmer fits.
I wish I could offer a better suggestion, but department stores have good deals when prices are marked down. And Nordstrom Rack and the likes will also deliver.
I like Men's Wearhouse for a number of reasons. The day after I joined a fraternity in college I wandered into one still drunk, knowing that I needed a suit for initiation. I had never owned a suit before so a guy there walked me through everything and was actually friendly and nice and didn't think it was odd I was 19 and didn't know anything about dressing up (I still don't).
Then the same thing happened a few years later going on PhD admission interviews.
I don't know the difference between cheap clothes and ones with a fancy label on them that cost 3x -- so I continue to go there for the sales people and their help, they all are nice and helpful in every location I have been.
Everything I get from there seems to last long enough. It doesn't fall apart in a time frame that makes me angry.
So MW has my endorsement.
"YOU WONT PAY ALOT, BUT YOULL GET ALOT!"
i bought a blazer from them a while ago. it was nice, but i outgrew, rather outshrunk it
service at men's warehouse= godly
I have 2 suits from them, both Donna Karen 3 button pieces. I love the service and the fact that they aren't brand hoors like the nordstrom's employees. I actually got married in one of the suits that I got from there.
One thing to remember is that they really try to sell you on the package deal, meaning all the shirts and ties and shoes and belts and whatever. You can get all of that elsewhere for better prices and better selection.
ditto on the packaging thing.
Most of the belts and shoes you can get cheaper at another place.
But, they are the boss at picking out matching ties with shirts. from a tie matching noob like me.
this is true. I just went there to buy a suit for an upcoming interview and you basically have a personal shopper. Of course they do push you to buy other things too...not too pushy though.
I don't like many of their ties there, they are kinda generic. I have a pretty decent collection at home, mostly vintage stuff. They aren't bad for shirt selection but they are all very traditional (read: wide) cut.
I'm their wet dream customer. The guy points to something and I look like " I didn't even know I needed that! I will take it". I don't know any better
Helpful thread. I'm going out this weekend to buy my first suit and I don't know what I'm doing.
They have nice suits there
