I may never use my bandsaw again. 2x2-1/4 wall. Takes about 2-3 min to make that cut on my small bandsaw.

yeah boy!

now just make a good bench for it with rollers and you'll be set.. should beable to buy the roller benches then just make a stand for the saw

idk if this is common knowledge but if you're cutting a bunch of tubing at 90* make sure to cut like the pic below. it'll greatly extend blade life.

Yeah, it came with a little bracket to hold square like that at 90 on the fence. Most my cuts are off 90 as of late though.

itll be bugger all in it tbh, its just when its flat it has more friction at top and bottom, blade wouldnt last that much longer.

use anti spatter as lubricant, works a treat

on the evolution and the dewalt i have the 45* mark on the saw wasn't close to accurate. did 11ty cuts to chase down 45* exactly then drilled/tapped into the saw so a bolt could be threaded in to lock the angle. did the same thing for 90*. much suggested.

Ugh. Dealing with some random small porosity in the roots my welds. I've never had this issue before but of course it starts when I'm trying a production run. Only visible when I round off the weld.

I've tried:

Turning my gas up (all the way up to 40 scfh)
Cleaning surface more than usual
New tip and gas gas shield
Checking/greasing my orings and lines
Switching between push/pull
Shorting my stickout

Nothing's working. I'm suspecting that it's either bad wire or there's a leak somewhere that I haven't found.

Did you spray anything with anti-spatter? That shit is good at making porosity. You could also try purging the tube you're welding.

This is what I'm chasing. No anti spatter. I've had gas issues before and it usually leaves consistent pores. Not random spotty ones like this.

Think I narrowed it down some. I put some brillow in the nozzle to try and defuse the gas. It seemed to help the most of anything I've done. It's weird though because I've never really had this issue before.

Did you try welding on any scrap? Did you have the same issue? The spot at the top reminds me of welding over a tack that's kinda dirty. If you're doing a root pass, and this is the cover. Are you wire wheeling in between passes? If you grind it out, does it come back at the same spot. If it does it usually means contamination in the root. Porosity can be a real bitch to diagnose, there are sometimes it just doesn't make sense and you never really seem to figure it out.

Tried scrap. Same issue. This is single pass. Ive grinded/cut out the pores then rewelded. I get pores in random spots so contamination doesn't seem to be the cause.

I switched wire too some Hobart (was using Lincoln) and that didn't help. Only thing that seems to be helping is the brillow in the nozzle. Makes me think something is wrong with the gun.

I’ve heard of contaminated gas or impure gas. Cylinder mishandled prior to fill? Saw some post where a dude was comparing airgas vs praxair or some other mix of suppliers and the difference was evident.

I know this sounds crazy, but if you are using a new bottle of gas. Take it off and roll it around on the floor for a bit. I was getting some bottles of 75/25 that weren't mixed properly. I dunno how you pump 2 gases into a bottle and they don't mix, but it worked. The rep from Praxair told me to do this. When this was the case, it had some porosity, but it welded funny as well. You could definitley tell something was off.
