Kinda disappointed in the Miller. It's been 10 or so years since I've used one and when I got my HF machine, I was very impressed but assumed a newer Miller would be more impressive. The Miller seems more cheaply made and definitely doesn't drive nearly as consistent as the HF machine did. It works, but not how I'd expect from a 1k more machine. Kinda regret selling the HF now.
yeah same with their tig imo. spent a lot of time with dynasty/syncrowave machines and cool little addons for $11ty doesn't justify the difference. used a little $200 HF start tig welder from Amazon that was awesome  AHP/primeweld whatever are a crazy good value for the $

Like 10 years ago I did mine and the tester guy told me to put giant tacks on my 3" pipe coupon. It was legit 1" tacks. Easiest 6g pass in the world, it was almost all welded out already :rofl2: .

I went on to cause many devastating accidents.

I have multiple Miller welders and have used almost all of them in their lineup(engine drive and electric). And I can't say I could really complain about any of them. I can say there are several Lincolns I didn't like, and a few cheap old chinese ones that were junk. Haven't had a chance to use any of the new chinese models from Harbor Freight or anywhere else to see how they compare.

Related/unrelated but it looks like I've gotten approval from the ministry of projects and budgeting to build my workshop. My current garage is slowly tapped out as I collect more and more fab tools.

Current attached garage is about 25x20, new detached is going to be 30x42

Site work is scheduled to start first week of June and building erecting first week of August. Kinda bummed I’ll miss out on having it for the summer build season but at least I’ll have a big spot for the winter/hibernation build
