Been checking this out lately. Seems too good to be true, but you never know.

I usually hate multi process machines because its too much work switching and keeping track of all the various guns, fittings, etc. I'm still very intrigued by this guy though. 100% duty cycle claim too.

I hope it works out but yea multi process machines haven’t been great for me.

Ok at everything, not great at anything

I need to make something like the middle part. It’s basically a spring steel “fork” that will hold those two halves of the bushing in place around a shifter rod.

I would assume using some sort of spring steel would be right. If I buy some how to I bend it into form without loosing the “spring” portion of the steel? It will be screwed to the body.
Would have to heat treat after bending. That looks like it would be best to be laser or waterjet cut.

I don't understand how they can claim a 35% duty cycle at 104 degrees, but a 100% duty cycle at 74 degrees. Something there doesn't add up. I've yet to ever run into a duty cycle issue with my Miller 215, I've welded duct all day with it, on 120v on a 100ft extension cord with no issue. Only problem I see is the MIG gun getting over heated on it.

Ive never hit the duty cycle on my mig machines either. Tig is a different story though. Much slower so more likely to need more than like 3 min. 3 min on a mig is a fuck ton.

Thats fucking awesome. I've only got a 110v tig/stick welder so I can't do anything that heavy... mostly just little sculpture stuff. Just finished this for work secret Santa for a girl who loves Harry potter :hsughw:

I now work in a metal fab shop, running a 4k watt fiber laser. Staying on the subject of harry potter, made this for my wife (friend did the design, i cant use CAD for shit yet). Its 18 inches wide, made from 16ga mild steel. The back has a bunch of small holes to plug weld the numbers and front on, so i hit it with a torch knowing I'd discolor it anyway. Went a bit hard with a few of those welds, but thats ok. Wife still loves it.

If anyone needs help with cad, feel free to shoot me a pm. I think I enjoy the design part more than the fab part. Happy to help

Ill reach out later. Busy with 4th celebrations tonight. Would love some suggestions on either free or reasonably priced cad programs, and a few tutorials. Im handy with computers and programming simple functions on our cnc mill and my 3d printer.

I use fusion 360 now because its the cheapest option for business. I like onshape more though. It's free for hobbiest but super expensive for business. Make an onshape account.

After spending most of my career using SolidWorks, I loathe onshape.

Most of my career in the private industry has been in solidworks.

I am now with the "government" and they use Creo.

Talk about working fucking backwards and in circles at the same time, lol
I've heard that about Creo.

OnShape has some good parts, but I get frustrated with the interface.

Oh, that just some metal supplier then?
its so much more

they buy old factories and sell all their used shit. and have an entire fab store setup like a giant walmart if you were in the business of building a bridge or ten and need to DIY your own trailers at the same time.

whatever

I'd love to get another Vidmar or two. So, how is the actual pricing on the used stuff? I'd be looking for one one of those large one. They are typically stupid expensive.

this place it either holy shit im buyin 5 its so cheap or thry price it sky high. never in between
