I’m building out my shop in my detached garage. I come from a background of metalworking and machining, but I’m building out more of a woodworking space after spending a few years on a full renovation. Want to get into cabinetmaking. But I still have my welders and crave to get back into metalworking too.

I have room for a small welding table and maybe a small lathe/mill setup, but I don’t want to weld in the same space my woodworking setup is for safety. What should I do?

Get some welding curtains and clean up your saw dust, or don’t.

You’ll be fine either way.

laser-bros is way cheaper for me being east coast.

i wish osh cut would setup a franchise out east. they prolly get approached all the time.

Idk how they manage shipping. When I put in a good size order that weighs like 50+ lbs, they only charge me like $40 via FedEx and it comes as 3-4 separate packages.

whatever

fedex trucks usually struggle to get to max weight so not surprising super dense shipments arn't blowing out in cost

Damn...wish I had found them over the summer. I was looking to have a piece laser cut and none of the other quick turn places would do it, or wanted to add a large oversize charge. Part is 47" long.

Sendcutsend wanted $117 for the part and $150 for shipping.

Oshcut wants $115 shipped.

the question is what kinda profile do you need to support the plex/glass in it?
Small bendy tabs for it to slot between? I dunno

I was hoping to attach to wall like a floating shelf, no visible hardware just slide it on…

Sheeeeeeeeeit

I was also trying to talk myself into a 4’ finger brake but if their manufactured prices are that decent, god damn!

They are great. I have them bend all my parts and I always put a digital angle finder on one or two in the box. Always within 0.1° of my specs. I also follow them on FB and watched them grow from small time laser to laser, forming, and just recently powder. They have the best of the best in laser and cnc forming equipment.

Those will be harder than you think to make look good like that. You'll need to tig weld the seams or make it multiple parts that bolt together.

Oh I’m sure it is hard. That’s why I want to get help. But I have a perfect spot on my wall for my own little Donald Judd replica so I want to figure out how to do it
