so a couple nights ago about a half a mile away a puppy was killed by some coyotes. even though the owners came out they yotes didn't stop so they are either very hungry or slightly rabid. Unfortunately we don't have anything in .223(yet) to dispatch these vermin in the event that they decide that our 70 something lbs yellow lab looks like dinner. So which round would be best to kill a yote or two: .30 carbine, 9mm, .45ACP, or 00 buck(I'm thinking a little too much overkill). 30-06 out of the garand or .308 from the Savage is a bit much and the neighbors might take offense. birdshot isn't an option either because I'm not interested in wounding the fuckers.
