that isn't a POS?
yeah thinking about that. I just wish I knew more about scopes in general to know what I want/need. Not spending $500 or even $300 on one though, as I wont use it that much. Just want something that is mil-dot and will be reliable for .223
EDIT: thinking this: http://swfa.com/Mueller-4-16x50-Tactical-Riflescope-P9139.aspx
I would just save the extra 100 and get the SS Scope
I don't want a complete piece of shit, but budget is really tight. Just want to finish this fucking rifle before the end of july
SS = Super Sniper.
EDIT: Damn, beaten
how is that saving me $100?
I'm sure he meant, you should save UP an extra $100 and buy it.
What kind of rifle is this going on, and why are mil-dots required if you don't mind me asking?
ah. well, I didn't WANT to spend that much. It's not like I don't have the money to, I just didn't deem it necessary.
EDIT: again, not too informed on all the intricacies of optics
Bushnell Elite 3200 fixed 10 power is the only scope worthwile in that catagory
anyone get me some wholesale or deal pricing on the SWFA SS's?
Doubt it, as SWFA is both the manufacturer, and retailer. I don't think they have a dealer network outside of themselves.
Mil-dots are gay if you don't know how to use them, don't have matching adjustment values, and are fairly gay in general compared to newer reticle offerings.
Though if you are all "OMG I JUST HAVE TO HAVE THEM", your BEST option by a fair margin IMO would be to hit the street, turn a trick, find $50 and buy a Nikon 4.5x14x40 Buckmaster.
didn't think a $50 nikon would hold up with a .223
we need an EDU on optics
I have one of these on my 91/30 (cue )
For the price the clarity isnt bad, but its big, heavy and the magnification for rangefinding is 14x I just use the mildot scale as a pseudo holdover scale anyway.
Nikon doesn't make a $50 scope and the model he referred to runs $250-$300.
@ "find $50" or "find $100"
I have an NcStar (china POS) 3x9 mildot scope on my AR and can hold 1 MOA.
The one I have is this:
However, they make a 4 power for closer to the $50 mark.
No im saying save up a 100, could do like 50 a month. Just dont eat out as much, energy drinks etc..
Its actually not as hard as people think
its not that at all. I just don't feel like spending tons on one. its not necessary for my needs.
I think I'll probably go with this one. Seems like it would fit the needs
or this one
but going to read up on mildot on wiki so I can understand it more
I had a Simmons 3-9x that worked great until it didn't work at all. It was on a lightweight .308 rifle though and was subjected to much more recoil than yours will be. The glass was pretty clear though, it was easy to look through. I've got an ancient Tasco 4x on there now that's holding just fine but it's useless as a paper-punching scope.
Respectfully, your choice in optics is fucking terrible.
You never answered my question: What gun is this going on, and what do you shoot?
