Failed my first 315 Bench attempt today.:wtc: Felt light coming down. Sticking point was about 6 inches off my chest. Anybody have any good advice on what to focus on to get past that sticky spot?

Warm up sets went like this:

    135 x 5
    185 x 3
    225 x 3
    275 x 1 went up nicely
    315 Fail.

PR before was 285. Guess I got too aggressive.
Shoulda jumped to 295 or 305.

dont get discouraged bro, wait a week or two and try for 295 or 305. what is your height/weight? I think I am gonna try for a new bench PR sometime in the near future. I managed 255 for 1 about a month ago at a bw of 155. Im hoping to get 270 or 275 over the next month or two.

    try this:

    135x5
    185x2
    225x1
    275x1

the "plate" mentality is what kept me from hitting 225 on flat bench for the longest time.....seriously took my like 6 months to go from 215 to 225....

Board presses sound like my next step.
