Yeah, the Astros recent performance against the A's is frustrating. 1-5 in their last 6 games against them IIRC.
But if you have to stink against a particular team, do it against a team in last place, that won't play into any tie breaker scenario.
Win the season series against a team you might tie in the playoff seeding? YES. Lose it against a team 16 games out of first place? That's okay.
