To be fair, nearly 20% of the households in my county are top 0.5% earners, so it definitely names a difference. Makes everything (motherfucking housing!) more expensive.

I've got a great income now, but my salary was $50-60k until 2017, and I had a $125k house and was raising two children. I have more money and nicer things now, but it's not like I don't know what it's like to live on a tighter budget.

This I can agree with. For the first time in my life, I made over 100k last year. I live in bumfuck Alabama where cost of living is cheap as fuck. I did nothing but work my ass off every single day 7 days a week almost every week. Had zero time to enjoy my money at all. It wasn't all that great to be honest. I had very little time off. Took no vacation. Most of my money was spent on bullshit or eating out, because I had so little time to cook for myself.

Wo wo wo I didn't say I agree with minimum wage. Hell the company I work for is share holder run, with a portion of our shares going to our foreign workers at the end of the year.
