So my buddy let me use his telescope.
What composition do you like better?
But I like the detail on the lower edge better on the 2nd one.
details on setup?
We used a Celestron NexStar 5 SE. I captured the image with my Canon XSi.
1 with a little more space on top.
was it just a single exposure or combination of multiple exposures?
can that tele pick up other objects in the sky or is moon the limit for it?
#1 is nice.
#1 flipped to the right.

it was 2 photos that I cropped together. The telescope can see Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars pretty well. Going to try galaxies sometime.
2, but left of center.
1, but I also feel the detail is better on image 2.
Nice shot! Yes that scope is very capable of shooting some nice objects. If I were you before you try galaxies aim that sucker at the orion nebula, fire off some 15-30 sec exposures and be amazed. This time of year is great for astrophotography because of the large, bright objects around.
I'm hoping to shoot Rosetta and Flame Nebulas, and if I"m lucky maybe I'll get some data on Horsehead nebula, but not easy since it will take longer than 3min frames to get detail.
